Trip Introduction

All the treks to Manaslu Region begin at Gorkha, a 6 hour drive to the west from Kathmandu . This area gives you the opportunity to experience Nepali village culture and the beauties of the pine forest. View the Tibetan Plateau from Larke Pass or choose the Base Camp trek and enjoy natural hot springs. Another option of this varied area is the Rupinala Route , which will take you to "Dudh Pokhari", a holy Lake. The choice is yours:
You can trek a circuit around the mountain Manaslu. The Manasalu trail has been described as nothing short of magical, with thick fir forests which cannot be found in any other place in Nepal. The route begins in Gorkha and heads north undulating between ridge tops and river gorges, into the wooded central Himalayas.
Rounding the eastern shoulder of Manasalu (8,163m / 26,781 ft) you'll be entering the high plains of Tibet . The rugged Tibetan people inhabit this region living in flat-rooted timber houses and workshops in secluded Buddhist monasteries. Larkya La (pass) marks the divide between Manaslu's less trekked western flanks and the Marsyangdi River valley.
